| Pre-Employment Screening and Background Investigations | |

If the applicant clears this step, the following pre-employment screening steps are performed. |
|
Extensive background investigations are performed on every security officer applicant. These background investigations exceed what is required by law. States and/or cities license or permit an individual to work as a security officer after the applicant has passed a written exam and/or a criminal background investigation. Accordingly, a security company could hire any security officer with such a license and remain in good standing with respect to its licensing. However, our company performs a drug screen and additional background investigations on the local, state and federal levels. An applicant's first step is to interview with one of our scheduling managers. The interview process consists of the scheduling manager's assessment of the applicant's security experience, presentation, communication skills and report writing ability. |
1. The applicant is required to submit to a drug screen. The drug screen checks for the presence of eleven substances. 2. On the local level, we search all reporting counties for record of any misdemeanor or felony conviction. 3. We additionally search for any "sex crimes" convictions and/or high-risk sexual offender registration. 4. On the federal level, we search the Federal Bureau of Prisons records for any federal conviction. 5. A review of an applicant's previous employment record is also performed. |

Our thorough background investigation process has resulted in the discovery of licensed security officers who have criminal convictions. Had we relied solely on the requirements of our licensing, as permitted by law, these security officers could have been legally employed. Of course, we did not hire these applicants thanks to our extensive background investigation process. However, these very applicants could be placed at your property by a another security company who does not perform such extensive background investigations. |
